Vietravel Airlines adds Airbus A321 to boost capacity ahead of year-end peak
Vietravel Airlines welcomes another Airbus A321 to its fleet.
Configured with 228 seats, VN-A292 is expected to enter service on 1 October 2026, following the completion of all required technical and operational procedures.
The additional aircraft will enable Vietravel Airlines to offer more seats, optimise flight schedules and operate with greater flexibility, giving passengers a wider choice of routes and departure times during the busy year-end travel period.
Building capacity for Tet 2027
The arrival of the Airbus A321 is part of Vietravel Airlines’ fleet expansion programme for 2026. A larger fleet will allow the airline to increase capacity on existing routes, improve schedule reliability and support the launch of new domestic and international services.
The fleet will support the airline’s planned domestic network expansion towards year-end.
As part of its year-end network expansion, Vietravel Airlines plans to launch services from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong and Thanh Hoa on 1 October 2026. Internationally, the airline is finalising plans for scheduled flights between Hanoi and Shenzhen, China, following the launch of its Ho Chi Minh City–Shenzhen route in August 2026.
Expanding its fleet and route network in parallel will strengthen connections between major business and tourism hubs and better position the airline to meet the anticipated increase in travel demand towards year-end.

Alongside its fleet expansion, Vietravel Airlines has opened ticket sales early for Tet 2027, giving passengers time to plan trips home for family reunions and holidays during the festive season. One-way fares start at VND 68,000, excluding taxes and fees, depending on the route, travel dates and applicable conditions.
The airline is also offering flexible booking options for the holiday period, including changes to flight dates or passenger names, subject to applicable fare conditions. Laying the groundwork for long-term growth
The arrival of VN-A292 marks another step in Vietravel Airlines’ transformation and expansion since it joined the T&T Group ecosystem in late 2024. Continued capacity growth in 2026 is providing a foundation for the airline to broaden its network, improve operational flexibility and prepare for its next phase of growth.

Alongside its fleet expansion in 2026, Vietravel Airlines is preparing the resources needed for its long-term development strategy. The airline and Airbus recently exchanged documents for an agreement covering the planned purchase of 50 new-generation aircraft to expand the fleet and increase capacity. Vietravel Airlines plans to sign purchase contracts for 20 A220s and 30 A321-family aircraft in the near future, with deliveries expected to begin in 2029.
By adding aircraft to meet immediate demand while planning its future fleet, Vietravel Airlines is building the capacity to expand its route network, scale up operations and strengthen connectivity in the years ahead.
