The establishment of the Vietnam Data Expert Network (VDEN) is considered a strategic step, in line with international trends and the development orientation of Vietnam's digital economy. The announcement program not only marks the beginning of a global knowledge network of Vietnamese people in the field of data, but also demonstrates the strategic vision of the National Data Association in connecting people – technology – knowledge, making Vietnam a dynamic center of the regional and world data economy. 

An important milestone in building Vietnam's data economy

Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of the National Data Center, Vice Chairman of the National Data Association, said that the announcement of the Vietnam Data Expert Network is an important milestone in the journey to build Vietnam's data economy. is a testament to our determination to turn data from potential into development reality.

The global network of data experts was formed with the goal of connecting Vietnamese intellectuals at home and abroad, sharing initiatives, experiences and knowledge to promote the development of an autonomous, creative and international integration data economy. Notably, VDEN is built on the basis of the close relationship between "4 houses": State – enterprises – academics – experts in order to optimize technological human resources, promote research capacity, and apply data to practice.

In addition, the network will also play a role in advising and formulating national data policies and standards, through giving suggestions to regulatory agencies, proposing legal frameworks and technical standards, as well as encouraging the development of new data projects and products. VDEN will train and develop high-quality human resources, through workshops, training, and professional guidance for the next generation of data professionals.

VDEN is operated based on 5 principles, including: Voluntariness – Cooperation – Mutual Development; Transparency – Responsibility – Integrity; Science – Quality – Continuous Innovation; Security – Respect for Privacy – Compliance with the Law; Global Connection – Promoting Vietnamese Identity. Up to now, the Network has had the commitment of more than 80 experts from many countries around the world such as Korea, the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, etc.

"The National Data Center and the National Data Association are committed to being a reliable companion, creating the best conditions for a team of experts to devote themselves. Together, we will write golden pages of history for Vietnam's data economy," Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong emphasized.

Within the framework of the event, Major Dao Duc Trieu, Secretary General of the National Data Association, announced the Decision to establish the Vietnam Data Expert Network. Notably, Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of T&T Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines was honored to be appointed as Vice Chairman of the Global Data Expert Network.

Data and technology are future growth drivers

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Do Vinh Quang affirmed that the Vietnam Data Expert Network is a necessary and timely step, meeting the expectations of Party and State leaders; and at the same time in line with the general trend of the world. The new Vice Chairman of VDEN said that currently, data is an important "strategic resource" of economies; are "input materials" for innovation. People who have data will have a competitive advantage and the ability to shape the future.

"Initiated and operated by the Vietnam National Data Association, VDEN not only gathers a community of experts, but above all, each expert is truly a 'knowledge ambassador', bringing global creative energy back to contribute to the homeland and country," said Mr. Do Vinh Quang.

Emphasizing that the power of science, technology and data is only meaningful when it is transformed into values to serve people, the Vice Chairman of VDEN is committed to accompanying and actively contributing to the National Data Association and the Expert Network in the journey of developing Vietnam's data ecosystem.
