T&T Group will launch energy storage battery products to the market in 2026

From April 24-26, 2025, the Vietnam - China - ASEAN International Energy Exhibition and Forum 2025 organized by the Vietnam Energy Association (VEA) and the China Electricity Council (CEC) officially took place in Hanoi. At the event, T&T Group and its partner Cospowers - one of the leading storage battery manufacturers in China brought a new energy storage battery product model with battery cells applying high-speed Z-layer technology; not only increasing the energy density by volume but also ensuring internal structural stability and extending cycle life, meeting the needs of large-scale energy storage.
Pioneering in applying technology in green energy development
In the context that Vietnam and other countries in the world have been strongly developing renewable energy sources, investing in battery storage systems is necessary; both contributing to ensuring energy security and sustainable development of the country, and promoting and opening a "new door" for the export market of storage batteries to countries with rich potential. In Vietnam, the importance and necessity of energy storage batteries have been affirmed in the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII) adjusted on April 15, 2025, in which it is stipulated that the development of concentrated solar power must be combined with the installation of storage batteries at a minimum rate of 10% of capacity and integrated within 2 hours.

As one of the leading energy corporations in Vietnam, T&T Group has shown a strategic step with a long-term vision in developing sustainable energy, typically by cooperating to build an energy storage battery factory in Vietnam - a new and pioneering direction. Since 2024, T&T Group has established a cooperative relationship with Cospowers to realize this goal. According to the plan, phase 1 of the project has a capacity of about 2 GWh/year and is expected to operate in 2026, phase 2 will be implemented 2-3 years after phase 1, contributing to increasing the total capacity of the project to about 10 GWh/year.
The T&T Group - Cospowers joint venture has also set a goal of launching the product in 2026 to anticipate the demand for integrated battery storage installation for renewable energy projects in the Vietnamese market after there are clear regulations and legal frameworks on electricity prices from battery storage and installation rates.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh said: "T&T Group and Cospowers have worked together since the research stage to select the location, design the factory and choose how to bring out the best products, most suitable for the Vietnamese market. We aim to capture 40-50% of the energy storage market share in Vietnam and aim to export to countries around the world in the near future."
Actively implementing the ASEAN - China regional cooperation model
The cooperation with Cospowers is one of the typical examples showing T&T Group's pioneering position in developing the green and clean energy industry in Vietnam. It is also a testament to one of the very few domestic enterprises that have been actively implementing the ASEAN - China regional cooperation model. Currently, T&T Group is also working with strategic partners such as the general contractor GEDI of China Energy Group, equipment suppliers Goldwind, Envision, etc.
In particular, T&T Group has proactively expanded its investment in the region, with the first step being the Savan 1 wind power project (Savanakhet province, Laos) with a capacity of 495 MW to sell electricity to Vietnam. This is considered the largest onshore wind power project that the Group has invested in to date, marking the "cross-border" energy investment strategy and demonstrating T&T Group's capacity in implementing large-scale projects in the international market. T&T Group also aims to complete phase 1 of the project (capacity of 300 MW) in 2025; and complete phase 2 (capacity of 195 MW) in 2027. In addition, T&T Group also plans to expand the scale of investment in energy projects in Laos towards exporting electricity to Vietnam and some countries in the region. In the long term, businessman Do Quang Hien's business aims to connect to the power grid and export clean electricity in the ASEAN energy community.

To promote Vietnam - China - ASEAN cooperation, within the framework of the Forum, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh also proposed specific and comprehensive solutions: on the legal framework and cooperation institutions; developing regional connectivity infrastructure; strengthening cooperation in developing energy resources; enhancing dialogue and information sharing; creating conditions for businesses and the private economic sector... Ms. Binh said: "Privatizing regional cooperation" is an effective direction to quickly implement Net Zero commitments, sustainable development and clean transition.
The mark of Vietnam's leading energy developer
T&T Group's journey is not only a story of investment in energy, but also a testament to the aspiration of a private enterprise in the process of accompanying the country in developing sustainable energy. T&T Group aims to reach a total power generation capacity of 16,000 - 20,000 MW by 2035, accounting for about 10% of Vietnam's power system capacity, most of which is from clean energy sources such as solar power, wind power, LNG power, biomass power and green hydrogen/ammonia, aiming towards the common goal of bringing Vietnam to net zero emissions by 2050.
To date, T&T Group has completed the construction and put into operation 10 solar and wind power projects with a total installed capacity and connection to the national grid of 877 MW. T&T Group is also in a joint venture with KOGAS, KOSPO, HANWHA (Korea) to implement the Hai Lang LNG gas power project - Phase 1 in Quang Tri with a capacity of 1,500 MW, investment capital of about 2.5 billion USD. With the Savan 1 project (Laos) deployed at the end of 2024, T&T Group has invested in green energy projects with a total cumulative capacity of more than 2,800 MW.

With a clear strategic orientation, T&T Group also identifies cooperation with the world's leading giants in the energy industry as an important key in developing clean energy. Major partners such as: KOGAS, KOSPO, HANWHA, SK Group (Korea); Erex Group, Marubeni (Japan); Cospowers and Goldwind (China) ... with strengths in finance, technology - engineering and operations will be the "extended arm" for T&T Group to optimize investment efficiency and concretize the set goals. In particular, through this cooperation, T&T Group will move towards transferring and mastering technology and engineering; gradually promoting the localization of the supply chain of equipment and services; developing related industries; and at the same time creating many job opportunities for local people to directly benefit from the projects.
From a pioneer in the field of clean energy investment, T&T Group is gradually shaping its role as a "game-maker" in the energy transition process in Vietnam, as Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Tri Long, former Director of the Institute for Price Market Research (Ministry of Finance) commented: "T&T is shaping itself as a pioneer investor, an "architect" of the energy transition in Vietnam. They see both responsibility and opportunity, responsibility for the country's green development future, and the opportunity to become the leading energy group in the region".
